"Stupendous and Spiritual!" The Director's Cut Comes to Brooklyn
On Sunday, November 20, 2016, Mr. Daniel diSilva came to Visitation Monastery, Brooklyn, to present the story and the documentary on the discovery, history and travels of the Original painting of the Divine Mercy picture.
No fictional detective story can match the journey of this holy and anointed painting, executed by artist Eugene Kazimirowski under the direction of St. Faustina herself.
“The Providence of God has led us to this screening and understanding of the history of this painting. The entire event was stupendous and deeply spiritual at the same time."
– Mother Susan of the Visitation
Mr. diSilva tangentially explained the CONNECTION between the Divine Mercy Image and our Visitation Monastery in Vilnius Lithuania where the Original Image was painted. Turns out the building where Blessed Father Michael Sopoćko lived also housed the artist’s studio where the Original Image of Divine Mercy was painted by Eugeniusz Kazimirowski. Today that building is now the convent of the Sisters of Merciful Jesus, the Congregation founded by Fr.Sopoćko. There the sisters live together and care for the sick.
The documentary The Original Image of Divine Mercy has since been released on DVD and is available at the film’s website. You will benefit incredibly by viewing it!
The Visitation Sisters are profoundly grateful to Mr. DiSilva for his visit, presentation and stay with us. May we remain united in the Divine Mercy!
