About the Film
At the request of Jesus himself, Saint Faustina and her confessor, Fr. Michael Sopoćko, worked in secret with artist Eugeniusz Kazimirowski to render her mystical vision on canvas. After 6 month, the painting was complete, but only after many corrections were made at the pursistance of Saint Faustina. The ensuing World War and subsequent violent and anti-Catholic Soviet occupation of Vilnius (Lithuania) forced the painting into hiding for many years behind the Iron Curtain. The painting was finally rediscovered and installed in its permanent home in a beautiful sanctuary in Vilnius in accordance with the last will and testimony of Blessed Michal Sopoćko and instructions left by Saint Faustina. This film covers the entire journey made by Saint Faustina’s magnum opus, and theological insights about it’s unique significance found in the obscured writings of Fr. Michal Sopocko.
