He was the priest chosen by Jesus to be the spiritual director of St. Faustina. He was instrumental in the promotion of the Devotion to Divine Mercy. Father Michael Sopoćko was personally involved in the mystery of the revelations of the Merciful Jesus. God assigned to him the very important role of fulfilling the mission given to Sister Faustina. Father Sopoćko dedicated almost his entire life to this work.

His life rounds out the complete story of how the devotion to Divine Mercy came be known throughout the world as Saint Faustina died shortly after the Original Image of Divine Mercy was competed.
